Co-teaching activity: a writing contest

Writing is one of the essential skills that our students must handle in all the languages they are learning. However, doing it in English is the most difficult way for them, as it is not their mother tongue.

After being for quite a long time in different schools doing our Practicums, we realized that, usually, students don’t like writing activities planned by their teachers, as they may be tiring or boring for them.

​

Considering this, my classmate and me (who had to plan a co-teaching activity to be implemented both in her and my school), decided to plan a co-teaching session focused on writing, trying to engage students and make them write in a fun and entertaining way in English.

​

The grade in which we implemented it in her school was 6th, and in my school it was 4th. Although they were different, the English level of both groups was quite similar, and that's why we did it that way.
